3MS Test
The M odified M ini M ental State - 3MS - Test was developed by Drs. Evelyn Teng, PhD and Helen Chang Chui, MD in 1987 at the University of Southern California. The cognitive screening and memory assessment measure expands upon the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) by extending the scoring range from 0–30 to 0–100, using graded scoring and four additional items that reduce ceiling effects and broaden domain coverage.
Use the 3MS Test
The 3MS is now become available through Mapi Research Trust, offering no-cost access for individual clinicians and researchers worldwide. The 3MS is also available for hospitals, clinics, and large-scale research studies and clinical trials.
We chose the Mapi Research Trust to distribute the 3MS because their aim is to facilitate access to information for all stakeholders in the field of Patient Centered Outcomes, particularly for Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) and we appreciate the use of the 3MS for clinical and research outcomes.
